Abstract:

A daily gridded product from the CANEK mooring array (Ochoa et al., 2001; Candela et al., 2019) data is provided. The CANEK database consists of a set of velocity observations, from 2012-07-10 to 2020-09-17) from a quasi-permanent mooring array with roughly constant spatial distribution, equipped to capture the velocity structure through the entire water column from a cross-section of the Yucatan Channel. Associated data may be found in related datasets U2.x860.000:0001 (cross-channel gradient of pressure and acoustic vertical travel time; https://doi.org/10.7266/VRVK55SR), U2.x860.000:0002 (gridded density and geopotential height differences; https://doi.org/10.7266/YQWCV66H), and U2.x860.000:0004 (ocean volume transport; https://doi.org/10.7266/GBCNGJQF).
