Abstract:
Tarballs from sediments of Gulf shores from Texas to Florida were sampled in July 2010, April 2011, and August 2011. Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (NMR) was used to determine concentrations of aromatic hydrogens in dichloromethane extracts of BP tarballs. NMR peak areas relative to 1,1,2,2,-tetrabromoethane (tBE) and content ratios are included.
