Abstract:
Two socioeconomic surveys of licensed Alabama fishermen were conducted approximately one (n~700) and two (n~550) years after the Deepwater Horizon Disaster. The year one survey was conducted using a random digit dial telephone approach and data were collected by an academic polling center. The year two data were collected using an online survey program and emailed invitations to participate. The dataset includes perceptions of: 1) relative impact to offshore fisheries, inshore fisheries and fish habitats, 2) relative impact of oil, dispersants and fishery closures, 3) species-specific impacts, and 4) recovery rates.
