Surf Water [01 Fort Pickens Batter 234, 02 Pensacola Fishing Pier, 03 University of West Florida Property, 04 Navarre Fishing Pier, 05 River Road, 06 Johnson Beach, 07 Intracoastal Water Way]: Site ID, Date (MM/DD/YY), Sample ID, Water Location (Surf), Time (hh:mm), Temperature (C), mmHg (torr), DO%, DO (mg/l), Sal (ppt, 1978 standard), Conductivity (muS/cm). Surf- Water was obtained in a bucket from the surf zone where the depths were 45-90 cm Site- Location of sample's origin Site ID- Unique number given to each site Date- The Date that the parameters were determined Sample ID- Unique number given to each sample includes month, day, year, and location Water Location- Region where the water was taken Time- Time of day the sample was taken Temp Co- Water temperature in degrees Celsius. mmHg- mmHg (torr) DO%- The percent concentration of oxygen dissolved in water, expressed where saturation is the maximum amount of oxygen that can theoretically be dissolved in water at a given altitude and temperature. DO mg/l- The concentration of oxygen dissolved in water, expressed in mg/liter Sal ppt- Salinity is in parts per thousand (based on the Practical Salinity Scale of 1978 (PSS78)). Cond- Conductivity: These units are µS/cm NR- No data recorded for that date
Methods:
Parameters were determined in fresh surf water on site. For Sampling Sites 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, and 07 sites basic parameters for seawater including atmospheric pressure, oxygen % saturation, mg/liter of dissolved oxygen, salinity in ppt, and conductivity were determined with a multiparameter meter.
