Abstract:
This dataset contains hepatobiliary concentrations of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in gafftopsail catfish (Bagre marinus) collected aboard multiple research and fishing vessels (R/V Weatherbird II, NCF, FSU, Texas A&M, MSU, GCRL) in the Gulf of Mexico in September 2015, and April to September 2017. Untreated bile PAHs were analyzed using high-performance liquid chromatography-fluorescence detection (HPLC-F) methodology. Liver PAHs were extracted from homogenized liver tissues using QuEChERS EMR (Agilent Technologies, Bond Elut) and confirmed and quantified using an Agilent’s 7890B gas chromatograph (GC) coupled to a 7010 tandem mass spectrometer (MS/MS) operating in multiple reactions mode (MRM). The dataset includes the date, location of sampling collection sites, and concentration of various hepatobiliary concentrations of PAHs in liver tissue.
