Abstract:

Microbial 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing sequences were generated from deep-sea sediment communities incubated under atmospheric and elevated pressure in the presence of crude oil and/or detergent, in order to investigate the effect of pressure on the development of microbial communities.

Purpose:

Investigation on the effect of pressure on the development of microbial communities.

Data Parameters and Units:

The dataset contains 2 text files (“lat_long.txt” and Sample ID and “Laboratory Conditions for GRIIDC_10_11_2019.txt”). The text file “lat_long.txt” contains - Site, Latitude (degree minutes north), Longitude (degree minutes west), Water depth (m), and date of sample collection in the form of day, month and year. The text file “Sample ID and Laboratory Conditions for GRIIDC_10_11_2019.txt” contains - Type, Accession, Unique Name, Pressure (megapascal: MPa), Louisiana Light Sweet Crude Oil (microlitres), and COREXIT9500A (microlitre).

Methods:

The method is Illumina MiSeq V3V4 16S amplicon sequencing.

Instruments:

Digital manometers DC400 (model P3961), tecsis GmBH, were used to regulate pressure.
