Abstract:

The impacts of dietary crude oil exposure on mahi-mahi (Coryphaena hippurus) broodstock and offspring were examined in this study. The data in this dataset is comprised of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. The spreadsheets contain data related to the mahi-mahi embryo bioassays that were conducted, data on the metrics of the spawning pairs of fish, water quality data, and tissue compositional and PAH concentration data.

Purpose:

Ring structure= ring structure of each measured compound; Compound= 50 measured PAH compounds; Sample ID= sample ID of each sample collected; Sum %= percent of the total that each ring class represents; Matrix= the type of sample; Basis= Dry or wet weight basis; Component= the analyte that was measured; ND= not detected. Sample names end with either 'Initial', 'Final', these refer to when the tank was sampled. Tanks were always sampled for the initial and final concentration. Exposures were static for their entirety.

Instruments:

Water quality monitoring probes for temperature and dissolved oxygen; glassware for embryo bioassays; microscope for assessing embryos.
