Abstract:

The data were numerically generated to demonstrate the performance of a newly proposed approximate model for simulation of the thermal effect during acoustically driven bubble oscillation. The details of the model and the figures corresponding to these data can be found in the paper Zhou, G. (2021). The data were obtained with both the proposed model and a standard Navier-Stokes solver in a wide range of the equilibrium radius of the bubble and the amplitude/frequency of the acoustic pressure. Purpose:

To validate the approximate model proposed to simulate the thermal behavior of oscillating gas bubbles.

Data Parameters and Units:

Most data are properly nondimensionalized. Please note that the "fig+x" in the data folder name refers to the figures in the associated publication Zhou, G. (2021), where x is the number of the corresponding figure in the paper. See the "README" file for more details.

Methods:

The proposed model converts the partial differential equation describing the thermal behavior of an oscillating bubble into three ordinary differential equations based on an analysis of the characteristics of the heat transfer in the bubble. The reference data for comparison were obtained by using a finite-volume solver for the Navier-Stokes equations.
