Abstract:

This dataset contains computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations of oil jets and plumes, which were validated with experimental data conducted in an Ohmsett tank. Purpose:

To investigate the transport of oil droplets in water crossflow.

Data Parameters and Units:

The dataset contains one excel file and one read me text file. Estimation of penetration depth, particle initial velocity (cm/s), penetration depth (μm), Particle size distribution, particle diameter (μm), Droplet size distribution of the OPAs, droplet size (μm), Oil trapping rate for high particle concentration, shaking time (min), percentage of oil in bottom and on the surface layer, Oil trapping rate for low particle concentration, shaking time (min), percentage of oil in bottom and on the surface layer, Oil droplet size distribution for oil only case, droplet diameter (μm).
