Abstract:

The dataset includes: Laser In Situ Scattering and Transmissiometry (LISST) measurements of particle size distribution under different particle size and concentration, Distribution of optical transmission, Theoretical and experimental concentration limits. Purpose:

To evaluate the performance of instrument LISST for the measurement of oil droplet size distribution during oil spill studies.

Data Parameters and Units:

Particle diameter (um), Volume fraction, Concentration-C (mg/L), Optical transmission-OT (%)

Instruments:

Experiments were conducted using the LISST-100X type C instrument. The particle volume concentration in each bin size was obtained using manufacturer provided inversion software (version 5.1.6).
