Abstract:

This dataset compares blocking primer efficiency to resolve microbial DNA on different plant types. The sample was collected from multiple locations from May 2015 to August 2016. Experiments were done with different primer combinations that would "block" the plant DNA and result in better resolution of the microbial DNA.

Purpose:

The purpose of these experiments was to develop a protocol that resulted in better resolution of microbial DNA.

Dataset consists of one Excel file (GoMRI_BlockingPrimer_PRJNA544094_v2.xlsx) and includes - Sample Name, SPUID, Organism (plant metagenome), Tax ID, SRA Accession, BioProject (PRJNA544094), Geographic_location_name (USA: North Carolina, Duke University, Durham; Louisiana, Bay Jimmy), Lat_long (Latitude and longitude; degree N and degree W), Date Collected (Mon-YY), and Sample information.
