Abstract:

The dataset contains fluorescence lifetime decays taken at 77K for the comparison of targeted polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in standard reference material (SRM) 1597a with known standards. Other related data on 4.2K fluorescence spectra were generated for the synthetic mixture of high molecular weight – polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (HMW-PAHs) in Shpol'skii solvents is available under GRIIDC Unique Dataset Identifier (UDI) R5.x284.000:0025 (DOI: 10.7266/TTMW2WEG).

Purpose:

To compare lifetimes of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) found in high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) fractions of known standard reference material (SRM) to standard lifetimes to confirm the presence of the target analyte.

Methods:

The following abbreviations were used in the naming of the files: N23eP - Naphtho[2,3-e]pyrene N12kF- Naphtho[1,2-k]Fluoranthene BbPer - Benzo[b]Perylene N23kF - Naphtho[2,3-k]Fluoranthene DBahP - Dibenzo[a,h]Pyrene N23aP - Naphtho[2,3-a]Pyrene There are two sets of files in this data set, standard files and HPLC fraction files. The naming conventions for the files are as follows: "0ppb add N12kF WTM_0" 0ppb add indicates no standard was added to the fraction, N12kF is the compound targeted in this file, WTM indicates the file is a wavelength time matrix (WTM), _0 indicates it is the first trial of 3, the trials being 0, 1, and for standard files, the naming convention is "5ppb Standard for N23eP_0" where 5ppb gives the concentration in parts per billion, standard indicates it is a standard file, and N23eP gives the name of the compound for the standard.
