Abstract:

Excitation-emission matrices (EEMs) for binary mixtures of benzo[b]naptho[1,2-b]thiophene (BbN12T) and benzo[b]naptho[2,1-b]thiophene (BbN21T) and synthetic mixtures of BbN12T and BbN21T with interference were collected at 77K with the aid of a Fluoromax (Horiba Jobin Yvon) using a pulsed lamp, fiber optic probe (FOP), and shpol'skii solvents. These data were subjected to parallel factor analysis (PARAFAC). Phosphorescence decay curves for benzonaphthothiophenes were collected with the aid of a Fluoromax (Horiba Jobin Yvon) using a pulsed lamp, FOP, and shpol'skii solvents. Triplicate spectra of supplemental material at RT, 77K, and 4.2K were also recorded with the aid of a Fluoromax (Horiba Jobin Yvon) using continuous wave lamp, FOP, and shpol'skii solvents. Purpose:

To identify BbN12T and BbN21T in NPLC fraction.

Data Parameters and Units:

For EEMs and triplicate spectra: Wavelength (nm); Intensity (cps). For decay curve: Time (ms); Signal in counts. Input and output parameters of PARAFAC are shown in JPEG image files. A 2 components model was used for PARAFAC analysis. Binary mixture (200 ppb BbN12T and 200 ppb BbN21T) was used as calibration file. All other binary mixtures and synthetic mixtures were used as test file. Concentration of all mixtures are reported in mixture name. Excitation and emission matrices are reported for all binary and synthetic mixtures. File naming convention example: For Figure S1, S2, and S3: 500_ppb_chrysene_77K_emission_new FOP; where 500 = concentration value of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAHs); ppb = concentration unit (parts per billion); chrysene = PAH standard; FOP = fiber optic probe For Figure S4, S5, and S6: 100_ppb_1-MeFluor_RT_emission; where 100 = concentration value of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAHs); ppb = concentration unit (parts per billion); 1-MeFluor = PAH standard where the following code list was used: 1-MeFluor = 1-Methylfluoranthene; 3-MeFluor = -Methylfluoranthene; Fluor = Fluoranthene; 1-MePyr = 1-Methylpyrene; 77K= temperature of the sample; 4.2K= temperature of the sample; RT = room temperature.
