Abstract:

Excitation and fluorescence spectra were recorded at 4.2K with the aid of Fluoromax (Horiba Jobin Yvon) using a fiber optic probe and shpolskii solvents. Spectra are reported for 13 polycyclic aromatic sulfur heterocycles (PASHs) with molecular weight (MW) 234.

column 1 = X is wavelength (nm) column 2 = Y is intensity (cps) Integration time = 0.1 sec, Wavelength range = 200-700nm, Step size = 1nm, Bandpass = 2nm File naming convention example: 100_ppb_P32bT_4.2K_emission_blanksub_smoothed where 100 = concentration value of polycyclic aromatic sulfur heterocycles (PASHs); ppb = concentration unit (parts per billion); P32bT = PASH standard where the following code list was used: P32T = Phenanthro (3,2-b) Thiophene P23T = Phenanthro (2,3-b) Thiophene P12T = Phenanthro (1,2-b) Thiophene P21T = Phenanthro (2,1-b) Thiophene P34T = Phenanthro (3,4-b) Thiophene P43T = Phenanthro (4,3-b) Thiophene P910T = Phenanthro (9,10-b) Thiophene A23T = Anthra (2,3-b) Thiophene A12T = Anthra (1,2-b) Thiophene A21T = Anthra (2,1-b) Thiophene BbN12T = Benzo (b) naphtho (1,2-b) Thiophene BbN21T = Benzo (b) naphtho (2,1-b) Thiophene BbN23T = Benzo (b) naphtho (2,3-b) Thiophene 4.2K= temperature of the sample ; emission = spectra type (emission or excitation); blanksub = blank was subtracted from data; smooth = spectrum smoothed using a Savitzky-Golay filter with a polynomial of order 2 with a window of 5 points. Phosphorescence spectra taken under these conditions are included for all of the above compounds with the exceptions of the Anthra group (A12T, A21T, A23T).
