Abstract:

Room temperature excitation and fluorescence spectra were recorded with the aid of a Fluormax (Horiba Jobin Yvon) using shpolskii solvents. Spectra are reported for 13 polycyclic aromatic sulfur heterocycles (PASHs) with molecular weight (MW) 234.

column 1 = X is wavelength (nm) column 2 = Y is intensity (cps) File naming convention example: 312.5_ppb_ P32bT_ RT_emission_blanksub_smoothed where 312.5 = concentration value of polycyclic aromatic sulfur heterocycles (PASHs); ppb = concentration unit (parts per billion); P32T = PASH standard where the following code list was used: P32T = Phenanthro (3,2-b) Thiophene P23T = Phenanthro (2,3-b) Thiophene P12T = Phenanthro (1,2-b) Thiophene P21T = Phenanthro (2,1-b) Thiophene P34T = Phenanthro (3,4-b) Thiophene P43T = Phenanthro (4,3-b) Thiophene P910T = Phenanthro (9,10-b) Thiophene A23T = Anthra (2,3-b) Thiophene A12T = Anthra (1,2-b) Thiophene A21T = Anthra (2,1-b) Thiophene BbN12T = Benzo (b) naphtho (1,2-b) Thiophene BbN21T = Benzo (b) naphtho (2,1-b) Thiophene BbN23T = Benzo (b) naphtho (2,3-b) Thiophene RT= temperature of the sample (room temperature); emission = spectra type (emission or excitation); blanksub = blank was subtracted from data; smoothed = spectrum smoothed using a Savitzky-Golay filter with a polynomial of order 2 with a window of 5 points. Spectra were acquired for a certain wavelength range (200-600 nm) but the last data point was extended out to 700 nm so that all the spectra end at 700 nm.
