Abstract:

This dataset contains the chemical composition of sediment samples associated with tabanid larvae collections from coastal Louisiana collected in between 2011-08-25 to 2011-09-28. It includes chemical measures of sediment samples: Calcium, Copper, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium, Salts, Sodium, Sulfur, and Zinc levels in parts per million; conductivity, percent organic matter and pH.

Purpose:

Compare soil quality with the presence of bioindicators.

Site (sample collection site), Date Collected (YYYY/MM/DD), Latitude (decimal degrees), Longitude (decimal degrees), Aluminum (ppm), Boron (ppm), Calcium (ppm), Iron (ppm), Copper (ppm), Magnesium (ppm), Manganese (ppm), ph (1:1), Phosphorus (ppt), Potassium (ppm), Sodium (ppm), Sulfur (ppm), carbon (%), Nitrogen (%), Zinc (ppm), Conductivity, (dS/m), salts (ppm), SAR (sodium adsorption ratio), and % organic matter.

Methods:

Samples were submitted to LSUAgcenter soil testing laboratory for analysis. Metals, boron and phosphorus were measured with the aid of an ICP (Inductive Coupled Plasma).
