Abstract:

A moored Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler measured current velocity as a part of operations conducted in the northern Gulf of Mexico, in Bureau of Energy Management (BOEM) lease block AT357 (Atwater Valley). Data were collected from 2015-04-19 to 2016-03-07. The ADCP was moored at 27.607743°N, -89.709328°E in 1158 m of water to measure velocities at the bottom of a sediment trap. Sediment trap contents can be found in related datasets under GRIIDC Unique Dataset Identifiers (UDIs): R4.x268.000:0002 (doi:10.7266/N7H993KF), R4.x268.000:0003 (doi:10.7266/N7CJ8BVQ), and R4.x268.000:0004 (doi:10.7266/N7416VD0) . Purpose:

Current measurements at the base of sediment deployed on a long-term mooring in the Bureau of Energy Management (BOEM) block AT357.

Methods:

The ADCP was moored at 27.375483°N, -90.5138°E in 1382 m of water. Bin sizes were 4 m, measuring between 6.4 and 110.2 m above the bottom.
