Abstract:

This dataset contains elemental and isotopic data collected aboard the R/V Endeavor cruise EN559 in the northern Gulf of Mexico from 2015-05-30 to 2015-06-20. Particle and zooplankton samples were collected using a CTD-rosette and a MOCNESS. The objectives were to characterize the physical and chemical properties in the water column at ECOGIG seep and other study sites. Samples were dried, then pelletized in Sn (tin) capsules for continuous flow isotope ratio mass spectrometry. The elemental and isotopic composition of particles and zooplankton was measured by continuous-flow isotope ratio mass spectrometry using a CE NC2500 elemental analyzer interfaced to a Micromass Optima and Isoprime 100 IRMS systems. The dataset also includes location (latitude and longitude), depth, and date of sample collection.

Please note that from cell 217 to cell 251, the date is given as 6/202015. The correct date is 6/20/2015. The use of red color for text in the file is irrelevant as the author was highlighting the minimum value and a blank cell means there is no data. The dataset also includes the cruise documentation for R/V Endeavor cruise EN559 led by the chief scientist Dr. Joseph Montoya.
