Abstract:

This dataset contains ancillary, meteorological, and water quality data for 21 sites sampled in the northern Gulf of Mexico during reef-fish community surveys. The dataset was collected on multiple cruises aboard the Intimidator and Backdown 2 vessels during summer months from 2015 to 2017. The data includes wave height, wind speed, cloud cover, and water quality (salinity, temperature, and dissolved oxygen) measurements taken 1m off the bottom with a Seabird 19+ CTD.

Date (MM/DD/YY), site name, vessel name, depth (m), latitude (degrees minutes), longitude (degrees minutes), wave height (m), wind speed (kts), cloud cover (clear = no clouds, partly cloudy = up to 50% cloud cover, mostly cloudy = greater than 50% cloud cover), salinity (psu), temperature (degrees C), and dissolved oxygen (mg/L).
