Abstract:
This dataset consists of hydrocarbon measurements in sediment cores collected aboard R/V Justo Sierra cruise JS-0815 in the southern Gulf of Mexico from 2015-07-31 to 2015-08-08. The dataset contains the date, location and depth where the sediment cores were collected and the concentration of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAHs) and biomarkers (hopanes, steranes, alkanes) analyzed at 5 mm intervals. The measurements were done following the method outlined in Romero et al., 2015 and using GC/MS/MS/MRM (gas chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry, operated in multiple reaction monitoring mode) on an Agilent 7680B gas chromatograph coupled with an Agilent 7010 triple quadrupole mass spectrometer. Cruise documentation was provided for the R/V Justo Sierra cruise JS-0815. The cruise was led by chief scientists Dr. Patrick Schwing and Dr. David Hollander.
