Abstract:

Analysis of the oxidative stress in adult Florida pompano after reproduction and exposure to south Louisiana crude oil via chemically enhanced water accommodated fraction (CEWAF)-spiked water.

Purpose:

To evaluate oxidative stress in Florida pompano exposed to CEWAF.

Methods:

Adults were placed in one of 6 spawning tanks (2 for high oil, 2 for low oil, 2 for control fish). Each spawning tank can accommodate up to 2 females and 3 males per tank. Tanks were covered to maintain proper lighting for spawning. After spawning, eggs were skimmed from the surface into egg collection tanks adjacent to the spawning tank.
