Abstract:

Controlled oil exposure study to evaluate the effects of south Louisiana crude oil, via contaminated sediment, on fish health. Data include lipid class composition using Iatroscan of southern flounder exposed via sediment contaminated with south Louisiana crude oil.

Purpose:

Controlled oil exposure study to evaluate the effects of south Louisiana crude oil, via contaminated sediment, on fish health.

Methods:

Tissue samples were extracted via EPA method 3545 using a Dionex ASE300, then concentrated to 10 mL in DCM for analysis. Lipid Composition: 1 uL of sample analyzed with Iatroscan using PeakSimple 444 software.

Error Analysis:

QA measures were included into per batch according to Environmental Laboratory for Forensics Quality Assurance Plan. If QA measurements were not met, samples were re-analyzed or data was qualified.
