Abstract:
Lionfish were captured from various locations in the northern Gulf of Mexico from natural and artificial reefs during 2013-03-30 to 2014-03-08. Diet data were collected and analyzed using visual identification and DNA barcoding analyses. This dataset supports the publication: Dahl, K.A., Patterson, W.F., Robertson, A.E., & Ortmann, A.C. (2017). DNA barcoding significantly improves resolution of invasive lionfish diet in the Northern Gulf of Mexico. Biological Invasions, 19, 1917-1933. doi:10.1007/s10530-017-1407-3
