Abstract:

These are the source code, input and output files for high-resolution simulations of waves, storm surge and coastal flooding during Hurricane Isaac (2012). It uses atmospheric forcing from the UWIN-CM full-physics atmospheric model. Related hindcast simulations can be found in GRIIDC datasets R4.x265.000:0020 (simulations using HWind) and R4.x265.000:0022 (simulations using GAHM).

Purpose:

This dataset was generated to examine storm-induced waves and flooding during Hurricane Isaac (2012) in the marshes and floodplains along the northern Gulf of Mexico.

Model output files include wind/water velocities (m/s), significant wave heights (m), water levels (m), surface pressure (m of water), wave direction (degrees), wave period (sec), radiation stress gradient (m^2/sec^2)
