Abstract:

A Nortek Acoustic Doppler Velocimeter was placed in the Barataria Pass inlet (29.272880 deg. N, 89.946660 deg. W) and collected hourly water depth and velocity data at 10 cm above the bottom. Data were collected from December 6, 2016, to March 3, 2017. Water depth (m) and channel velocity measurements (m/s) are presented.

To measure water fluxes through the Barataria Pass inlet.

Column 1: Elapsed time (hours) from December 6, 2016 at 4 pm (instrument start) to March 3, 2017 at 4 pm (instrument stop), Column 2: water depth (m), Column 3: velocity component across channel, oriented 40 N (m/s), Column 4: velocity component along channel, oriented 320 N (m/s)

Methods:

The Nortek Acoustic Doppler Velocimeter sampled hourly with a burst of 1024 points at 4 hz.
