Abstract:

This dataset includes data generated from the electrospray ionization Fourier transform ion cyclotron mass spectrometry (ESI-FT-ICR-MS) analysis of aggregates that have sunk to the bottom of mesocosm tanks following dichloromethane extraction. Samples were collected during mesocosm experiments conducted in October 2015 at Texas A&M Galveston, and the samples were lyophilized in Galveston then extracted (dichloromethane) and analyzed by ESI-FT-ICR-MS at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA in September of 2016.

Purpose:

To investigate molecular level differences in sinking aggregate organic matter (OM), sinking aggregates OM impacted by oil, and sinking aggregates OM impacted by oil and dispersant mixtures.
