Abstract:
This dataset contains CTD/rosette data collected aboard the R/V Point Sur cruise PS17-02 in the Mississippi Bight from 2016-07-23 to 2016-07-30 during CONCORDE summer 2016 field experiment. Data from CTD/rosette sampling system includes tracers such as nutrients; oxygen; oxygen and hydrogen isotopic composition of the water; selected trace elements (molybdenum and cesium); chlorophyll; and radium isotopes, as well as the location, date, and depth at the sampling collection site. This data was obtained to help constrain water and nutrient sources as well as mixing. The CONCORDE PTS03 cruise R/V Point Sur PS17-02 (cruise DOI https://doi.org/10.7284/909390) was led by chief scientist Dr. Christian Briseño-Avena.

Purpose:
Investigation of water chemistry, biology, and circulation in the Mississippi Bight. All CONCORDE cruises were designed to provide observational (physical, chemical, biological) data on the Bight for use in a synthetic model describing oil exposure potential. This specific cruise occurred during a summer hypoxic period.
