Abstract:

Discrete chlorophyll-a samples were collected during the CONCORDE Fall cruise on November 4-6, 2015 aboard the Pelican R/V. Samples were processed fluorometrically. The samples covered the Mississippi Bight and Sound regions.

Purpose:

Chlorophyll-a and fluorometer calibration.

Data Parameters and Units:

Station, Latitude (decimal degrees), Longitude (decimal degrees), Sample depth (m), Date (Year, Month, Day, Hour, Minutes) Mean chlorophyll-a (mg/m3) of three sample replicates and standard deviation.

Methods:

Three samples were collected at each station/depth. Samples were filtered using a GF/F filter pad and stored in liquid nitrogen until processing. Pigments were extracted following the Methanol extraction method (Welschmeyer, 1994; Ritchie, 2008) and chlorophyll-a was measured fluormetrically using a Turner 10AU Fluorometer.
