Abstract:

Discrete samples (40) for chlorophyll-a were collected during the CONCORDE spring cruise, R/V Pelican from March 29-April 3, 2016. Samples were processed fluorometrically. The samples covered the Mississippi Bight and Sound regions.

Purpose:

Measure chlorophyll-a along the cruise track and validate the fluorometer data.

Data Parameters and Units:

Date (Year, month, day, hour, minute), station name and cast number, latitude (decimal degrees), longitude (decimal degrees), sample depth (m), Average chlorophyll-a (mg/m3) and variance and Median chlorophyll-a (mg/m3) for 3 replicates at each station.

Methods:

Three samples were collected at each station/depth. Samples were filtered using a GF/F filter pad and stored in liquid nitrogen until processing. Pigments were extracted following the Methanol extraction method and chlorophyll-a was measured fluormetrically using a Turner 10AU Fluorometer.
