Abstract:

A Reson Seabat 7125 multibeam sonar collected bathymetry and backscatter data along three corridors in the Mississippi Bight. The data files are stored in the GSF format. Data was collected between 03/30/2016 and 04/12/2016.

Purpose:

This dataset was used to provide other CONCORDE scientists an accurate depiction of the seafloor and depth within the sampling domain. The seafloor backscatter data was coupled with surficial seabed sediment samples in order to provide sediment distribution maps to aid in numerical modeling within the Mississippi Bight.
