Abstract:

This dataset is derived from a research cruise WS17177 on board the R/V Walton Smith cruise from 2017-06-26 to 2017-06-28 in the Florida Straits as part of a mission to satellite tag adult control and oil exposed Mahi-Mahi (Coryphaena hippurus) and characterize the habitat where they were captured. Two identical 5,000L recovery tanks were used to hold Mahi-Mahi in control seawater for up to 16 hours. The dataset includes water quality parameters (temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, pH, ammonia, and PAHs) measured from onboard recovery/incubation tanks.

Provide information about the conditions and water chemistry in the recovery tank.

Data Parameters and Units:

WS17177 recovery tanks ammonia file: Tank id, sample id, ammonia (micrograms/L). WS17177 Recovery Tanks Water Chemistry file: date, time (EST), tank number (1 or 2), number of fish held in tank, temperature (degrees C), pH, dissolved oxygen (mg/L), dissolved oxygen (%), salinity (ppt), ammonia sample id, initials of scientist taking the measurement, tank flushed or static (tanks were either held static or were flushed with clean seawater).
