Abstract:

The dataset includes information on the metabolic response, the specific dynamic action (SDA), in adult mahi-mahi(Coryphaena hippurus) following feeding on a variety of different diets. Also, swim performance data of both fasted and fed fish are included in this dataset.

Fish ID = identification number; Feed type (unfed, sardine, squid, or dry diet); Fish mass (g); Fish fork length (FL, cm); Temperature (deg C); Meal size (g); Ucrit = upper critical swimming speed (Body length/s); MMR = maximum metabolic rate (mg O2/kg hr); SDA = specific dynamic action (mg O2/kg); RMR = routine metabolic rate (mg O2/kg hr); Time to Peak SDA (hr); SDA duration (hr) Fish were fed once immediately before data measurements were taken.
