Abstract:
This dataset contains images, videos, observations of developmental stages of Mahi-Mahi (Coryphaena hippurus) from 1-cell to adult stages. Mahi-Mahi embryos were immediately collected after spawning events and were equally distributed among 1 L-glass beaker, where they were kept under optimal rearing (26C, 34-35 ppt and 16/8 photoperiod) and examined under a Nikon SMZ800 stereomicroscope coupled to a Fire-i400 or Fire-i530c digital camera. Developmental stages and characteristics of individuals were documented from video and photos collected during the stages of development. Observations from juvenile to adult stages were made directly from the production tanks and photographed at the different stages of development. Data Parameters and Units:
Image (jpg, tif) and video (mov) files showing the life development of cultured mahi-mahi from the zygote stage to adult phase under multiple observations ranging from step 01 to 46. Data directory with image and video files are named with step number used for different observation, and a developmental stage of the organisms.
Instruments:
Nikon SMZ800 stereomicroscope coupled to a Fire-i400 or Fire-i530c digital camera (Unibrain, San Ramon, CA).
