Abstract:

This dataset contains Genbank accession numbers of DNA sequences of the mitochondrial Cytochrome c oxidase I (COI) genes from deep-sea fishes species collected in the northern Gulf of Mexico during DEEPEND cruises DP01 to DP05 from 2015-05-01 to 2017-05-11. Other related additional data collected during these cruises are available under GRIIDC Unique Dataset Identifiers (UDIs): R4.x257.228:0002 (DOI: 10.7266/N7Z036HF), R4.x257.228:0010 (DOI: 10.7266/N7GF0RW0), and R4.x257.228:0011 (DOI: 10.7266/n7-rmfn-4d68).

ID#: Genetic sample identification Number; Cruise: Sample cruise number (DP01-DP05); Collection Date: Date of sample collection (DD-Mon-YY); Order: Name of taxonomic order of sample; Family: Name of a taxonomic family of the sample; Genus Species: Name of taxonomic genus and species of the sample; GenBank Accession #: National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) record number or identifier for the sample’s DNA barcode sequence of the mitochondrial protein-coding gene Cytochrome c oxidase subunit I; Source: Institution responsible for generating and verifying DNA barcode; Start Lat: Starting latitude of sample collection trawl in decimal degrees; Start Lon: Starting longitude of sample collection trawl in decimal degrees; End Lat: End latitude of sample collection trawl in decimal degrees; End Lon: End longitude of sample collection trawl in decimal degrees; Trawl #: Sample collection cruise trawl number in decimal degrees; Sample ID: Original at sea sample collection identifier. Correction note: In the rows 312-316, cruise #s (column B) are typos and they should all be DP04.
