Abstract:

This dataset contains microbial data collected from 21 permanent stations that were established in 2011 to include: reference, moderately oiled, and heavily oiled sites (7 replicates each) in Barataria Bay, Louisiana. It includes cultivable bacterial populations and functional genes.

Purpose:

To determine the impact of the oil spill on microbial populations in Barataria Bay, Louisiana.
