Abstract:

This dataset reports the water flux (epidermal and endodermal) over time for red mangrove roots analyzed by a sequential filtration model. A dual layer filtration model was used. This dataset supports the paper Berrin Tansel, Ariadna Arreaza, Derya Z. Purpose:

To observe the water flux of mangrove roots exposed to Louisiana crude oil and Corexit 9500A dispersant.

Methods:

Water fluxes were calculated using the following equations: For epidermis: Jt1/Jo1 = 1/(a1 + b1e^k1t) For endodermis: Jt2/Jo2 = n[1/(a1 + b1e^k1t)][1/(a2 + b2e^k2t)].
