Purpose:

To develop a regional 3D Earth System Model that includes interfacial exchange processes between sediment, water, and atmosphere; biogeochemical processes, the transport of organisms, and the effects of petroleum hydrocarbons on all of these processes.

For each buoy, all available data is downloaded and averaged for each day of the year. climatology_river_temperature.nc-- 1. name 2. days Time (yearday in 2009 Includes 29 Feb) 3. temperature sea temperature (degrees Celsius) 4. latitude latitude of river mouth (decimal degrees) 5. longitude longitude of river mouth (decimal degrees) 6. buoys, 33 redundant pairs of buoys (station1 station2) *River climatology using buoy data from NOAA http://tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/. Each variable (except days) is ordered by river. The temperature is calculated from an average of the buoy values given in the buoys variable. This climatology is used in a ROMS model where many of the rivers are divided into more than one source, hence these rivers have multiple entries.
