Abstract:

High-Definition videos of bubbles and droplets rising from natural seeps and of physical sample collection operations were taken from the ROV Hercules and ROV ARGUS and near the seabed at two sites (MC118 and GC600) in April 2015 during GISR Cruise G08.

Purpose:

The in situ behavior of gas bubbles and oil droplets from natural oil seeps will help scientists understand and better predict the fundamental behavior or petroleum fluids in the ocean environment.

Data Parameters and Units:

High-definition videos stored as a collection of ~5 minute mov files and Cruise Report with annotated times (UTC) for the videos. Video filenames are UTC timestamps.
