Abstract:

Water/air jets are generated under ambient conditions and recorded with a high speed camera to analyze the influence of the gas phase on the jet rise velocity and to rate the 2D analysis method (as used 2010 to determine the oil flow rate). As datasets the videos are provided.

Purpose:

These experiments have been done to investigate the analysis method of particle tracking to predict the volume flow rate of multiphase jets. Knowing the error of the determined total volume flow rate as function of gas ratio the flow rates of oil/gas blowouts can be estimated with more precision.
