Abstract:

This dataset includes viscosity measurements for Louisiana Sweet Crude and North Sea Oil at different temperatures. Viscosity was measured at five temperatures, 4, 10, 15, 25 and 35 degrees Celsius. Shear viscosity, shear stress, shear rate, and gap are reported for 3 experimental runs at each temperature for both oil types. Averaged values and standard deviation are also reported. Viscosity was measured with a rotation viscometer at 1 bar of pressure. This research was conducted to analyze the influence of oil composition and temperature on oil viscosity.

Purpose:

These experiments have been done to determine the required physical properties to model the distribution of oil in water, e.g. the rise velocities of oil droplets.
