Abstract:

Time series photographs of a moored, camera-equipped sediment trap from June 28, 2012 to September 12, 2016 at natural oil seeps in the northern Gulf of Mexico (OC26). Moorings deployed at depth of 1655m.

Purpose:

The images record the marine snow aggregates as they settle within a quiescent volume of water so that their sinking speeds can be recorded over time and as a function of the aggregate size.
