Abstract:

High resolution images of corals impacted by Deepwater Horizon oil discharge. These images were collected in water depths of 65 to 75 meters in Alabama Alps Reef and Roughtongue Reef in the Gulf of Mexico.

Camera positioned to document injuries, size of corals, surroundings, coral community.

Instruments:

Digital SLR camera (Canon Ti3) in deep-sea housing deployed with a pair of high-output LED lamps.
