Abstract:

This dataset reports collection information and Genbank accession numbers for 5 individual Paramuricea biscaya corals collected in the Gulf of Mexico from December 9 to December 11 2010. Corals were collected during the R/V Atlantis Cruise. Accession numbers are provided for cytochrome oxidase subunit 1 and mutS-like protein mitochondrial partial coding sequences. These data have not been used to generate a peer-reviewed publication and are presented for historical purposes only.

To determine the physiological response of corals exposed to oil and dispersant during the spill

Methods:

Following collection, RNA was extracted from a subset of samples and was sent off for transcriptomic sequencing. When available, Illumina transcriptome data will be linked to this record.
