Abstract:
Hydrographic and water column data were collected during a cruise to the Hercules 265 site using a CTD-rosette system aboard the R/V Acadiana. We characterized the physical and chemical properties in the water column at/near the rig in the immediate aftermath of its blowout. The ship departed Cocodrie LA on 07/27/2013 for a day cruise, then returned to the rig on 07/29/2013 - 07/30/2013. A second visit on 25 August by the R/V Weatherbird provided additional hydrographic and chemical data from the water column.

Purpose:
Characterization of physical and chemical properties in the water column at/near the Hercules 265 rig in the days and weeks following its blowout.
