Abstract:

This dataset includes matlab scripts and the associated input data used in the application of a nonnegative preserving interpolatory spline method. The input data (profiles.mat) is an interpretation of the original pisces data and mesh.mat contains the information on the location of nodes in the mesh. This method was applied to study water column oxygen anomalies in the aftermath of the Deepwater Horizon blowout.

mesh.mat file: contains location information to establish mesh p0(lat,long): location of profiles P (lat,long): location of additional nodes K: profile index profiles.mat file: contains water column profiles location of water column profiles: lat, long water depth: depth (profile index, depth in m). O2 concentration: o2 (profile index, concentration in mg/L) O2 anomalies from estimated background: anprof (profile index, anomaly in mg/L). Value of 0 in o2 and depth indicate no value Excel spreadsheet versions of the mesh.mat (mesh.xlsx) and profiles.mat (profiles.xlsx) are included
