Purpose:

These bathymetry transects were collected during overnight operations ahead of the next day's towed camera (C-BASS) operations to ensure object avoidance as well as ability to track the bottom closely as the C-BASS was towed 3-5 meters above bottom. These data have not been cleaned or checked for accuracy and as such should NOT be used for navigation or detailed analysis purposes.

Data Parameters and Units:

Seafloor depth information and depth uncertainty in meters.

Methods:

These data were collected using a multibeam echosounder which was either a Reson SeaBat 7125 or Reson T50 dual-head. They have been somewhat corrected via applied sound velocity profiles and cleaned of obvious extraneous pings. Note: All surfaces except for CBASS_04_29_1m_ShallowArea.bag, CBASS_04_29_2mDeepArea.bag, DeepPipe2m.bag, MidDepthPipeandRig1m.bag, ShallowPipeandBend1m.bag are in UTM coordinate system (16N).
