Abstract:
For the purpose of monitoring water quality, discrete hydrographic measurements and grab samples were collected biweekly via kayak-based trips at three stations established throughout Laguna Salada and Los Olmos creek from February 2023 to January 2024. A datasonde stationed at one site in Los Olmos creek took discrete hydrographic measurements in 15-minute intervals from September 2023 to January 2024. Grab samples were analyzed for organic and inorganic nutrients, and chlorophyll a.

Data Parameters and Units:
Date (mm/dd/yyyy), Time (hh:mm), Site, Replicate, Level (m), Conductivity (µS/cm), Salinity, Dissolved Oxygen Concentration (mg/L), Dissolved Oxygen Saturation (%), pH, Temperature (°C), Depth (m), Secchi (m), Chlorophyll (µg/L), Dissolved Organic Carbon (µM), Total Dissolved Nitrogen (µM), Total Organic Carbon (µM), Total Nitrogen (µM), Ammonium (µM), Nitrate + Nitrite (µM), Nitrite (µM), Orthophosphate (µM), Silicate (µM), Chlorophyll-a Fluorescence (RFU), RDO Concentration (mg/L)
Methods:
At each site, hydrographic measurements were collected biweekly using a YSI ProPlus multi-parameter instrument from the surface. A secchi measurement was obtained by submerging a secchi disc in a spot out of direct sunlight to a depth at which it could no longer be seen, and total depth was obtained by lowering the secchi disc to the bottom. Discrete grab samples were collected at 10 cm below the surface in acid-washed, polycarbonate amber bottles, and were stored on ice until processing. At one site, hydrographic measurements were collected every 15 min using a deployed In-Situ Aqua TROLL 800 multi-parameter instrument one meter from the bottom that was swapped out for data download, calibration, and cleaning biweekly.
