Abstract:

This dataset contains groundwater elevation level (height of water above sea level) data for monitoring wells located in the Baffin Bay, Texas watershed obtained from 2020-02-07 to 2022-03-23. The dataset provides a log of the changes in the aquifer over time. Levels were recorded using a submerged depth probe that auto-logged a reading every 30 minutes. Data was recorded as often as possible, excluding probe malfunctions, 2020-02-07 to 2022-03-23.

Purpose:

This data was collected in concert with radio isotope tracer data to understand the submarine ground discharge into Baffin Bay, Texas and the aquifer composition.

Methods:

Automatic depth loggers were placed in each monitoring well to record the depth of the water above the probe every 30 minutes. Probe data was corrected for air pressure total depth of the well along with ground elevation to produce groundwater elevation levels in the lab.
