Abstract:

Soil & Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) discharge data formatted for input to Delft3D. The .grd data files define the spatial area and grid coordinates for each of our six subdomains in the Houston-Galveston Bay area. The .dis data files represent daily-averaged discharge inflows to each of the six subdomains. The .src data files contain the IDs and locations of SWAT inflows on the grid for each of the six subdomains.

Purpose:

These data were created to provide daily-averaged discharge inflows as model inputs to Delft3D which was then used to estimate flooding levels and duration in six areas of the Galveston Bay region.

Methods:

Riverine and rainfall-induced flooding data were provided by the SWAT model. These data were formatted for Delft3D using custom R code by assigning daily-averaged discharge inflows to each of the six subdomains at locations corresponding to the boundaries of the SWAT subdomains that occur inside the six Delft3D subdomains in the form of .dis files.
