Abstract:

Percent cover of seagrass species in both restoration and reference sites at 19 locations was recorded. Date of sampling (August-December 2018) Location (Lat, Long), Age of restoration (years since restoration initiated), and type of restoration methodology originally utilized are also reported.

Purpose:

This was part of a project to revist seagrass restoration projects of various ages and resample them. The data were then used to compare cover of seagrass in restored versus reference sites.

Data Parameters and Units:

The parameters are date, site_code site, sampid, age_yr, IN_OUT, TOT, TT,HW, SF, HD, HJ, RM, X,Y and Type. IN_OUT IN = Restoration, Out = Reference TOT Total seagrass percent cover, number of 100cm^2 cells in 1m^2 quadrat that contained seagrass of any species TT-Percent cover Thalassia testudinum HW-Percent cover of Halodule wrightii SF-Percent cover of Syringodium filiforme HD-Percent cover of Halophila decipiens HJ-Percent cover of Halophila johnsonii RM-Percent cover of Ruppia maritima X-longitude Y-latitude site_code- site code sampid- sample identification

Methods:

Visual field sampling in both areas where seagrass was restored and nearby natural areas (reference sites).
